Crafts
I have always really enjoyed drawing, painting and making things with my hands, plus using one thing to make something else, so when I’m not reading or writing, I sometimes like to do crafty things, like making my own stationery from a bunch of magazine cut-outs, developing my own black & white film in a dark room, or cutting up two shirts to sew them together into a new one. There’s something really calming and satisfying about making art on your own or with other people, and I’m usually amazed how much better I feel after taking out some crayons, paper, and scissors for awhile, or folding a bunch of origami. One of my favorite things to do is to cut out images I like and glue them onto other things. Whether you need a creative outlet or just a way to do something with your old socks, you can find lots of great resources out there for both high- and low-maintenance craft projects. I’ve listed some I like that are out there on the Web, but look around your own community or even just your own house and surprise yourself with how many cool crafts you can find and make!
